Reading Flatland

I speak to a paper man
every time I speak.
I hear tinwhistles and bongoes
on every compact disk,
and dip into that dimension
like the newspaper
you forget tomorrow.

Everyone talks about
the same solids-
like why I print myself
and there are many reasons.
And many speak of the inside of other things
like what solidity is,
and how to achieve it
and who I am
and why I see all men
paper.

Moving forward
in flat little timelines
pen and voice,
bytes and pixels,
thread and chanting
and always flat,
but with a wonderfully engaging
aspect ratio.

I love the depth of this thought,
or would,
if there were any.
it makes me angry
and very
very
flat.
