insects in the sky

the lights they form a shape i can not detect
this natural (unnatural) defect
appears as a horrid cicada on the ground
far far below on the ground
with networks of glowing spines

intertwining in grotesque lines
far far below on the ground

are these beasts of small
upon the ground
no that innocent grass cannot be home
to such monsters
they are in the sky
close. much too close
suspended in the night particles
just below my outreached toes
