hourglass is cheating?

my life has always progressed
at a reasonably moderate pace.
there have been times,
when it seems to have flown by
like a dove on roller skates
and other times, when at the speed
of a dying sloth
it inches along
painfully slowly. but, these past 2 years

they are a blur! they have gone by far far too quickly.
it seems like yesterday when i was entering the jungle
and now, i am suddenly quite close to leaving it!

hourglass, you have cheated me.
these years went far far faster than the other ones
you will not get away with this!
this heist will not go
unpunished
